January: A Month That Didn’t Miss a Beat

We’ve been searching for the perfect words to capture the first month of 2026, and the closest we’ve come is a lively quartet: fun, busy, exciting, and exhilarating. January has shimmered with color, and we’re grateful for every moment. From hosting our alumni at our opening assembly, to honoring the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr., to a full week of anti-bullying activities, and then diving straight into preparations for Science Fair ’26, the energy has been nonstop. Add to that a string of victories and spirit-filled moments with our soccer team, standout performances from our debate and oratory team, and our first PTA meet-and-greet of the year, and you have a month bursting at the seams. We’re delighted to share it all with you, so settle in and enjoy

ACA Alumni Assembly

We opened the 2026 school year by welcoming our alumni back to campus for a warm, reflective gathering. It was a morning filled with reconnection, shared stories, and thoughtful conversations about life after ACA. Our visitors spoke about independence, time management, and the power of supportive friendships. Among them was 2018 graduate and former SBG president, Tobi Ogunbiyi, who joined us on camera to recount his journey through college and medical school, reflecting on the experiences that shaped him. You can watch his story here.

Antibullying Week: Caring for Others

Anti-bullying week held special meaning this year, beginning on the day we honored Martin Luther King Jr., a figure who championed love and courage in the face of violence. His reminder that “Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into a friend” guided our conversations with students as we explored what it means to care for one another.

Led by our Child Safety team, the five-day campaign centered on the theme “Caring for Others.” Day 1 introduced the theme. Day 2 ensured no child ate lunch alone, encouraging paired conversations and new connections. Day 3 focused on appreciating classmates who make others feel welcomed. Day 4 celebrated random acts of kindness. We closed the week by presenting certificates to students recognized for their kindness, including those named ambassadors of kindness for the year. We’re eager to watch our students carry these habits into every space they enter.

Parents Show Up and Show Out at the Parent Meet and Greet

Our PTA kicked off the year with a fun meet and greet that brought parents, staff, and students together for laughs, chats, and lots of good energy. It was the perfect chance to mingle, make new connections, and spread the word about the upcoming World Choir Games. Huge shoutout to the planning team, our donors, and every parent and staff member who came out. You made it a blast!

ACA Warriors Shine at Home and Away

January definitely belonged to the ACA Warriors! Our soccer team hit the field twice this month, facing Valencia Schools and i-FLIER International School. The home match wrapped up with an incredible 10–1 win, and the away game? A clean 0–5 victory. We’re cheering loudly for our players and their coach. Bring on more wins this season!

Fourth Grade Play Date

Our fourth graders took kindness to heart and invited students from a nearby school over for a play date. They spent the day running around, hanging out, and spreading joy in the simplest, sweetest ways. A little playtime goes a long way!

Looking Ahead with Joy

2025 was an incredible year for our students, and we’re excited to share the journey with you. From Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat to our Christmas musical, Raad Tidings, and the beautiful middle and high school concert, What Is Christmas?, each performance told a special story.
