Volume 46: Issue 5 (January 2025)

Welcome to a new year and our first blog post of 2025!

We are excited at another opportunity to make new memories, learn new things, and enjoy the journey.

The year is off to a great start in our classrooms with new, fun learning experiences.

Come along with us for a ride through January.

Hello January!

New Year, New Goals

Michael Josephson inspires us to “approach the new year with resolve to find the opportunities hidden in each new day,” and what better way to do that than by setting meaningful resolutions?

Our 3rd and 4th graders kicked off the year by writing down their hopes, dreams, and goals—what they want to do, learn, try, and explore.

Take a look at their heartfelt resolutions below and let their enthusiasm motivate you to set your own goals.
Remember, it’s never too late to start fresh!

Juicy January: Inspiring Kids to Eat Healthy with Fun and Flavor!

We believe that “you are what you eat,” and while you’re not a banana, you’ll live a healthier life when you eat fruits and vegetables. January marked the start of our healthy eating campaign across the campus as we encouraged parents to incorporate fruits and vegetables into their children’s diet.

Pre-KG students took it up a notch as they enjoyed healthy snacking during a class picnic.
From apples that keep the doctors away to tomatoes that rhyme with potatoes, they had a delightful time under the sun.

2nd Graders also took up the challenge and had a fruity version of snack time.

We hope to inspire you to have a Fruity February.

Making a Splash: Our Kids Are Enjoying the Reopened Pool!

We are back in the water and loving it!

As part of our PE program, our pools have reopened for swimming lessons

and it’s safe to say that the kids are having so much fun as they learn.

With the weather getting hotter, pool time has provided so much relief for our kids.

Class Features

Preschool

This January, our preschoolers thrive as they explore fun and engaging learning experiences!

Creche kids shared warm hugs, Pre-Nursery embraced the beauty of friendship by singing with their Creche friends, and Nursery students enjoyed hands-on learning with planting bean seeds and other outdoor number activities.
Pre-K highlighted the importance of healthy living with a fun picnic and cooled off with a refreshing swim, while KG students built tech skills and learned about MLK’s impact through lessons on the fruits of the Spirit.

Don’t miss these heartwarming moments. Watch below.

Elementary School

January has been a month full of learning and exciting experiences for our elementary students.

From hands-on activities to thought-provoking lessons, each grade explored new concepts in engaging ways.

Our 1st graders enjoyed swimming lessons during PE, while 2nd graders embraced collaborative learning, diving into topics like Nigerian and American currencies, conjunctions, and interjections. In 3rd grade, students reflected on the life of Nelson Mandela, drawing valuable lessons from his story. Meanwhile, 4th graders explored how God creates all things in order, working together to unscramble Bible verses. Our 5th graders took a trip to First Bank, where they gained firsthand knowledge of the banking system and asked insightful questions.

It has been a month of discovery, growth, and fun-filled learning!

Middle & High school

Our Middle and High School students kicked off the new year with enthusiasm! 6th graders explored the production industry at Sumal and enjoyed learning musical rhythms. 7th graders delved into histograms and joined 9th graders in exploring art.

11th graders had a refreshing time in PE during swimming lessons and, along with 12th graders, learned the importance of making everyone feel welcome. A highlight of the month was the field trip to Black Horse Factory, where students gained valuable insights into the production business.

Alumni Spotlight

We’re thrilled to have Rim, one of our amazing alumni, and her Mom pay us a visit on campus.
We had a fun time chatting with them as they shared their inspiring journey through ACA.
