A March to Remember

Welcome back from Easter Break! Our long-awaited March blog is finally here, and we’re excited to share all the highlights from an action-packed month at ACA.

From a full week of Read Across America celebrations with Dr. Seuss-themed fun, to hosting our elementary school parents, Spirit Week led by our student government, and commemorating Francophonie Day, March was nothing short of vibrant. We also enjoyed exciting field trips, hosted a career fair for our middle and high school students, and rounded it all off with our preschool Sports Daze.

Read Across America Week

Our community at American Christian Academy celebrated a love for reading with a week-long theme centered on the works of Dr. Seuss.

We kicked things off with The Cat in the Hat, as our Pre-K to elementary students arrived in a parade of creative hats. The next day, we stirred up a little culinary adventure with Green Eggs and Ham. After the story, our young explorers bravely sampled the famous dish. Some loved it, others were unsure, but everyone discovered a simple truth: you never really know until you try. On the third day, we came to school looking wacky because it was Wacky Wednesday! On Thursday, we dressed up as Thing 1 and Thing 2, and on Friday, we wrapped it up with silly socks for Fox in Socks.

It was indeed a week of stories leaping off the page and into real life. Check out some highlights from Instagram

Elementary Parents’ Day Out: Connect, Learn, and Share

Every parent deserves time to relax, connect with others, and gain deeper insight into their child’s academic journey, and that’s exactly what we created for our elementary school parents.

From engaging icebreakers to a workshop on “Stronger Attention: Better Learning.”

It was a meaningful time where questions were heard, and concerns were addressed.

A big thank you to all the parents who showed up!

Screen Smart: PTA Sessions on Healthy Tech Habits

In March, our PTA hosted interactive sessions for students from elementary through high school, highlighting the effects of excessive screen time and ways to manage it. Students learned about the short- and long-term impacts on their health and explored practical strategies to reduce screen use, including better time management, enjoying nature, and connecting with others.

Career Fair: Empowering Minds, Transforming Lives

We hosted one of the most anticipated events of the year– our Career Fair! High school students had the chance to meet professionals from a wide range of fields, gaining firsthand insight into what it takes to succeed. They asked questions, explored different industries, and learned how each career path operates. The event’s goal is to empower students to make informed decisions about their future careers.

SBG Organizes a Week Long Celebration of School Spirit

Our Student Body Government brought the campus to life with a week-long celebration of school spirit, packed with engaging activities each day.

We kicked things off in full color as students showed up in stunning cultural attire, celebrating unity in diversity. Day two was a stylish time-travel moment, blending classic 80’s elegance with the bold luxury of the 21st century.

On day three, we took a cultural trip to France 🇫🇷, dressing the part, speaking French, and enjoying delights like baguettes and crêpes. It was a fun and immersive way to experience a language we proudly learn at ACA.

Day four was all about creativity, with students pairing up as iconic TV duos. We wrapped up the week on a cozy note with Pyjama Day, easing into a well-deserved, restful weekend.

7th Grade Humanity Project

Our 7th grade students explored the power of kindness and compassion through a meaningful initiative to support our ground staff.

They organized a car wash, offering their services in exchange for donations toward providing a meal.

By the end of the project, they didn’t just raise funds—they gained firsthand experience in empathy, teamwork, and the value of hard work.

Preschool Sports Daze: Big Energy, Little Champions

We closed out the month with the highly anticipated Preschool Sports Daze, an action-packed celebration of teamwork, energy, and house pride. Four houses– Volta, Congo, Niger, and Zambezi– stormed the field, ready to compete across a variety of exciting events.

From a spectacular display of unity and poise during the march past to thrilling races where tiny feet made mighty strides, the atmosphere was electric from start to finish. The excitement spilled beyond the track, with fun-filled sack races for moms and an intense tug of war showdown between the houses that had everyone cheering.

It was a vibrant day of sportsmanship, community, and unforgettable moments.

12th Grade Field Trip to Ado-Awaye: A Journey Above the Clouds

Our 12th graders traded the classroom for the breathtaking landscapes of Ado-Awaye this March, embarking on a field trip that blended adventure, discovery, and reflection.

Nestled in the heart of Oyo State, Ado-Awaye is home to one of Nigeria’s most remarkable natural wonders–the Iyake Suspended Lake.  As students made their way up the ancient steps carved into the rocky terrain, they were surrounded by lush greenery, weathered trees, and the quiet whispers of history carried in the breeze.

The hike was more than a physical challenge.

It was an immersion into nature’s beauty and Nigeria’s rich ecological heritage.
