A March into April!

Celebrating Dr. Seuss Week

March kicked off on a high note as our preschool to elementary school students celebrated Dr. Seuss Week,

a fun-filled event designed to foster a love for reading and storytelling. Scroll down for a glimpse into our Dr. Seuss Week festivities.

Mystery Reader Alert in Pre K

Wacky Wednesday

Our Pre-K students were thrilled to discover that the mystery reader for the week was none other than our Head of School, Dr. Equi Nwulu! He arrived with gifts in hand and read I Can Read With My Eyes Shut, making it a truly delightful experience

Pre-K and Kindergarten students walked into their classrooms to find a wonderfully wacky setup! Stuffed animals dangled from the board, shoes were in the most unexpected places, and silly surprises were everywhere. It was certainly a day filled with excitement and laughter!

Green Eggs and Ham Day

If I ran the Zoo Day

Have you ever been hesitant to try something new? After reading Green Eggs and Ham, we challenged our students to taste the iconic dish. Despite being a new experience, many gave it a thumbs-up and even suggested adding it to their breakfast menu! To make the day even more interesting, our students beautifully wore green and yellow! Would you give green eggs and ham a try?

Our elementary students brought their imaginations to life by bringing their favorite stuffed animals to school and stepping into the role of zookeepers! Some even dressed in fun animal prints to complete the experience. If you ran a zoo, what would you do? We know exactly what we’d do! Just like Gerald McGrew in If I Ran the Zoo, we’d never let you feel blue. “With creatures so strange, your imagination would be in range!”

High Schoolers at The Institute of Genomics and Global Health (IGH)

A group of our 11th and 12th graders had the incredible opportunity to visit Africa’s leading genome sequencing lab at Redeemer’s University, Nigeria. During their time at the Institute of Genomics and Global Health (IGH), they explored how genomics is transforming public health across the continent.

From discovering various specialized fields to understanding the functions of advanced laboratory equipment, our students gained valuable insights and inspiration for future careers in genomics research. They also had a hands-on learning experience with DNA and RNA through virtual reality simulations.

One of the highlights of the visit was meeting Professor Christian Tientcha Happi, a renowned Molecular Biologist and Genomics expert, who serves as the Director of IGH. Along with his team, he encouraged the students to continue their pursuit of knowledge and innovation in the field. It was an eye-opening and inspiring experience that left our students eager to explore the vast potential of genomics!

Hansen’s Village: Charity for a Cause

A group of our 11th and 12th graders took the initiative to support individuals living with Hansen’s disease, organizing an independent project to raise funds and resources for the community. During their visit to Hansen’s Village, they not only shared the donations they had gathered but also spent time connecting with the residents, bringing warmth and encouragement to those in need.

We are dedicated to nurturing compassionate students who demonstrate empathy and take action to make a difference—both locally and globally. The heartfelt efforts of our 11th and 12th graders at Hansen’s Village are a testament to this mission.

ACA Career Fair

On March 21st, we welcomed parents and community professionals to share insights with our students about various career paths.
They discussed opportunities across different fields, offered guidance on how to build successful careers, and answered students’ questions.

It was a fulfilling day of learning, exploration, and networking, inspiring our students to take meaningful steps toward their future careers.

Wellsprings: Exploring Culture and History at Olumo Rock

ACA Marks World Math Day with Campus Math Fest

Our Wellspring boarding students took an exciting trip to Olumo Rock in Abeokuta. They explored an art gallery, visited a local cultural store, and hiked to the summit while learning about the Egba people’s rich history.

Highlights included Lisabi Garden, an ancient refuge cave, and breathtaking city views from the top.

On March 24th, ACA celebrated World Math Day with exciting math activities and an inter-school competition featuring Ibadan International and Lead City International Schools. Our younger students joined the fun with a creative Math Costume Contest. It was a day of learning, creativity, and a deeper love for math!
